An easy way to learn about industry analysis
Thoughts: I began working in technology R&D right after graduating. For each new project, I was accustomed to assessing technology strengths and
weaknesses and then deciding whether eort should be placed into R&D. I relied on others for industry information, so I lacked the broader
perspective and the ability to make judgments independently. Gradually, I came in contact with non-technology-related knowledge. While
this helped me, I still lacked the comprehensive ability to make logical judgments on issues. I took part in the industry analysis course
and after just a few weeks of intensive learning, I began to have a dierent frame of reference in looking at industry. Previously when
I read corporate or industry news, I only had a cursory knowledge of what was taking place and could not make a judgment as to the
writer's viewpoint. Now when I read nancial or economic magazines, I have a new understanding. When I read industry analysis reports,
I am able to make an educated guess as to what platform the writer is using to carry out research and whether his logic and hypotheses
are reasonable. I am also now beginning to score each report, making it easier to determine if the reporter is simply copying from other
sources or has an independent viewpoint.

Meeting outstanding individuals from different field
Thoughts: The course is quickly coming to an end. Initially, I was a stranger to industry analysis. However, the detailed curriculum and training
provided by instructors have helped me lay the foundation of knowledge in this area. I have no doubt that analysis and training associated
with the final specialized report will bring together all that I have learned throughout the course. Another advantage of the course is that I
have met outstanding individuals from many different fields which has helped to further expand my horizons. This will be a major benefit for my work and growth.

Solved tough questions regarding product development
Thoughts: I had a very simple motive for participating in the industry analyst course. As a developer of new products, I discovered that I had
weaknesses. For example, in the course of designing a product, I focused on the technical aspects. Invariably, the cost of what I designed
was too high and marketing rejected the design. As a result, I was not able to do a good job the rst time around. Fortunately, I learned
about this course through the Internet and the curriculum was exactly what I required. I expect that what I have learned will give me a
deeper understanding of the industry in which I work. I will now be able to better design products based on actual needs of the industry
and better communicate with people on the marketing end.
This course has been a great help to me. I learned about various research methods, problem analysis and acquired skills in evaluating
information, all of which can be applied to my work. For example, the courses on primary/secondary information gathering essentials,
industry/corporate competitiveness analysis, market forecasting methodologies, and individual knowledge management have helped me
solve many problems in my work. The courses also helped change my understanding of myself and forced me to ponder my future. As a
result, I have changed my attitude toward work and life, which has brought more meaning and happiness to life.
